Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Scans

Our MRI magnet has been recently installed. We have the latest generation of integrated coil and workflow technology allowing for quicker scan times, improved image resolution and expansion of MRI services. Dedicated metal artefact reduction sequences and dedicated MSK coils improve overall orthopaedic imaging. High resolution optimized protocols are used for neuro-imaging including specialized epilepsy imaging, functional MRI and tractography.

X-Ray

Plain X-rays of the chest, sinuses, bones and spine are used as the primary method for diagnosing infections, trauma and diseases of bones due to wear and tear. With our digital systems radiation dose is reduced.

Ultrasound

We offer Ultrasound Scans for monitoring the foetus during pregnancy and in diagnosis of numerous conditions involving organs such as the liver, kidney, heart and blood vessels. Colour Doppler ultrasound measures the movement of blood through vessels and allows the radiologist to assess abnormalities such as narrowing of the vessel or a blood clot within the vessel.

Computed Axial Tomography (CT Scan)

Computed Axial Tomography (CT Scan) is a X-ray technique using a scanner that produces cross sectional images of the body which can be viewed in two or three dimensions. Multi-Detector  CT (MDCT) is the most modern form of this imaging with the pictures being produced in only a few seconds. These scans are used for examination of the brain, chest and abdomen and for fine detail examinations of the spine and joints.

Our scanner features the latest dose reducing algorithym’s, dual energy imaging capabilities, metal artifact reduction technology and improved image quality. Due to the advanced hardware and software, radiation doses delivered in diagnostic examinations are kept to a minimum and even a CT coronary angiogram can be obtained at a dose of below 1 millisievert. Dual energy (low and high energy X-ray beam simultaneously) allow niche examinations such as in-vivo chemical analysis of renal calculi and detection of gouty tophi.
